Jay

Bridgette was induced on the 7th. Bridgette and Gabe had baby Jay around 2 a.m. Aug 8th.  The labor went pretty smoothly. Bridgette was having contractions on her own before they gave her the meds for induction. Things got a little interesting when the nurse gave Bridgette a higher dose than she was supposed to and Jay's heart rate dropped and Bridgette had 3 nurses moving her all over the place to get his heart rate back up. Luckily he stabilized and all was well. Bridgette had contractions every 2-3 min the entire day but they felt fairly mild to her and Bridgette and Gabe waited them out while watching shark week in the hospital. Things seemed pretty slow going until Bridgette's OB came and broke her water. around 9pm. An epidural followed and just in time because the contractions definitly were kicked up 10 notches! Around 2 am Bridgette felt like things were getting pretty close...and they were. Jay was ready to take on the world and was delivered after Bridgette pushed for about 10 min. Luckily the doctor was already at the hospital or Jay might have been delivered by the nurse. Gabe was very proud of himself that he stood beside Bridgette through active labor and didnt throw up or pass out. Bridgette and Gabe felt very blessed to have a healthy baby and a fairly smooth labor.
